Mississippi College, affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Convention, is a private, co-educational, Christian university of liberal arts and sciences.
History
Mississippi College was founded in 1826 – the oldest institution of higher learning in Mississippi. It is also the first coeducational institution in the U.S. to grant a degree to a woman. Since 1850, MC has been affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Convention.
Campus
Located in Clinton, Mississippi (population 26,000). Fifteen minutes away from the capitol city of Jackson, the campus is steeped in tradition and beauty. Off-campus facilities include the Mississippi College School of Law in downtown Jackson and the Flowood Center in Rankin County.
